Query #3

I’m posting a new query, which is adapted from Storycatcher by Christina Baldwin.

How do you see our meeting? This doesn’t have to be long, in fact, describing it by way of a metaphor would be wonderful. (For me Klamath Falls Friends is like an apple because…). If this is awkward, then plain prose is welcome.

The second part of this is, What makes you proud of our meeting?

Just like Ken’s storytelling class, let us honor what others have written, without judging. Only when we all participate can our whole story be told.

I look forward to what you have to say!

Karen O.

  1. Our meeting is like a kaleidescope because it is full of change, movement, and reflection.

I am proud of our meeting for being a group that truly does try to follow Christ, even when we are asked to follow Him to places we would really rather not go.

  2. To me our meeting is like a patchwork quilt. There are lots of different bits in various textures, shapes, and sizes coming together to form a whole. And one piece by itself cannot do as much as we all do together.

I am most proud of the meeting because there is a place there for people who do not identify as Christian. We are all welcome. And there is a sense of people walking the talk of the deeper truths that can be found in all wisdom traditions. People have talked about this meeting being a safe place to ask questions and I have found that to be very true.

  3. Our meeting is like a tree that has deep roots, roots that are interconnected, helping us to grow strong and stand tall. It is a tree that reflects the ever-changing movement in nature. It is a tree that provides rest and shade and contemplation for many a weary worn traveler and spiritual seeker.

I am proud of our meeting’s willingness to walk the talk and be the hands and feet and love of Jesus in our neighborhood and in other parts of the world.
